From Miasino to the Three Mountains of Coiromonte: A ring itinerary that combines the charm of the villages of Lake Orta with the lush nature of the hills.

Departure from Miasino, a historical jewel overlooking the lake, to head inland in the direction of Armeno, which can be reached following a pleasant secondary road. From here, you go into the green heart of the valley; you leave the village and follow a path or a dirt road that runs along the banks of the Agogna stream, a moment of cool and peace in the middle of the forest.

The climb continues gently until you reach the plateau of Coiromonte, a small mountain village that is the starting point for the main excursion. With the help of assisted pedaling, you face the ring of the Three Mountains, three wooded and panoramic reliefs connected by a comfortable dirt road (the “Walk of the Alpine Pastures”), which turns into a suggestive single trail in the last stretch that leads to the top of Mount Falò. From here, the 360° panorama sweeps over Lake Orta and, on clear days, up to Lake Maggiore and Varese.

The return follows the same route to Coiromonte and then descends, perhaps for a different route, towards Armenian and Miasino, closing the ring. A perfect tour to enjoy the quiet of nature, away from traffic, with the picturesque views that only the hills of Piedmont can give.

Useful tips for the route

Beware of single trails: The final stretch that climbs to Mount Falò is described as a narrow path. If you don’t feel safe, you can always get off your bike and push it for a short stretch. Better cautious than making a fall.

Battery management: The climb to Coiromonte and the Three Mountains will require a good use of assisted pedaling. Use an “eco” or “tour” mode on the plains and retain the “boost” power for steeper ramps, so be sure you have enough energy for the return.

Hours and light: Start with a good margin of time. The total duration indicated by Komoot is about 3 and a half hours, but between stops for photos and panoramas, it could take even 4-5 hours. Be sure to leave for the return with at least a couple of hours of light.

Respect for nature: The itinerary crosses wooded and suggestive areas. Remember to take all the waste with you and, if you meet animals or hikers on foot, slow down and pass with caution. Miasino tour to the three mountains of Coiromonte.
